uGo: mobile application

UGO was thought up as a part of the corporate social responsibility team at my company. The goal was to understand what drove people to carpool and see if there was anything that would encourage people to carpool more. After my research I came up with a tool that measured the individual's and the company's direct carbon impact and helped people within the company carpool more easily.

Global climate change has already had observable effects on the environment. Glaciers have shrunk, ice on rivers and lakes is breaking up earlier, plant and animal ranges have shifted and trees are flowering sooner.

An application connecting people within the company, helping reduce emissions, traffic and saving money through ride-sharing.

How Might We...reduce the emissions created by our daily commutes while making the experience an enjoyable and productive part of the day?

Based on the results of several interviews, it became clear that the environment is the number one motivation to carpool, followed by connecting with others and saving money.

uGo Persona

uGo is differentiated from other carpooling services, because it's an internal platform and the #1 focus is the people and the planet.

We borrowed a value from our sister company,
TreadRight...

“Have a positive impact on the people and communities we visit, to protect wildlife and marine life, and to care for the planet we call home.”
